DIY MILK GLASS

If you are OBSESSED with anything milk glass like me, then you will LOVE this DIY!  This project combines two of my loves…Milk glass and the Dollar Tree!

This project is SOOO simple!  Here’s how I did it!

To get started, you will need glassware.  For this project, I chose two different pieces from the Dollar Tree.  The first piece is a small glass bowl that I have purchased previously for other Dollar Tree DIYs.  I really like this bowl because of it’s compact size!  Perfect for cute little projects.  The second piece I chose is actually not glass, it is plastic!  I chose this piece because of it’s unique shape!

Next, you will need these sticker strips from the Dollar Tree.  These strips are AMAZING!  They made this project so easy!  I was able to easily peel off strips of these stickers and evenly apply them to the glassware for a streamline look!

Finally, you will need SPRAY PAINT!  I tend to go with RUST-OLEUM spray paints, but you can use whatever you have on hand.  Walmart has some new spray paint colors out right now that are SOOO pretty!

The first step of this project is to apply the stickers.  The part of the project required a lot of focus and patience!  From start to finish, it took me about 30 minutes to apply the stickers.  I tried to focus on keeping the rows of sticker strands applied at even distances from one another.

The next step is to spray paint!  I decided to go with white for this first attempt at replicating hobnail milk glass.  I would advise applying at least two coats of paint.  Both pieces were practically covered with just one coat, but I wanted to make sure it was completely even, so I applied a second coat.  Once I applied multiple coats, I set the pieces out and let them dry!

Once the pieces have dried, set them out and enjoy your hard work!  This project is so simple, but the pieces make such a dramatic statement!  I love admiring these pieces in our home, and find that they fit in seamlessly next to authentic hobnail milk glass!  This completed project cost less than $10!!!

I hope you enjoyed this Dollar Tree DIY!  I highly recommend that you give this a try and share the finished project with me on Instagram!

XOXO,
Kieren
